This paper reveals strategy for agricultural intensification with emphasis on agricultural aviation. As the population densities of Nigeria have been high for a long period, land degradation, involution, and perhaps even stagnation have set in. It was backed up by the theories of Thomas Malthus, and Bose upon agricultural intensification and population growth. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with 188.7 million people (2017 estimate) which is known to have good soil that enhances agriculture. Furthermore, agricultural practice in Brazil was examined because they have similar characteristics with Nigeria in the area of soil fertility, and they are technologically developed most especially in agriculture with the practice of agricultural aviation. Nigeria still struggles with low agricultural productivity with old technological involvement. The beauty of this study is the suitability of sound policies that emanate towards achieving agricultural intensification. This is a major means to banish hunger and reduce poverty.

The identification of research gaps from literature and filling the gaps is referred to as the statement of the research problem and not the statement of the problem. There is needed to come up with a summary of how the research will have plausible result more than the existing works that have been carried out.

The difference between a statement of the research problem and the statement of the problem is that:
The statement of research problem deals with the identification of research gaps and contributing innovative approach to improving the existing work. This is mostly applicable to Doctoral Thesis and Master Dissertation. The summary at the end of the statement of the research problem is the contribution to knowledge emanating from the researcher.
Statement of the problem is the identification of problems. This is mostly applicable in Undergraduate Final Year Project and Postgraduate Diploma Project.
In order to achieve the statement of research problem, the following are needed:
The year of publication;
The name of Author(s);
The topic; and
The methodology.

When determining sample size in your project/research, avoid conflict of words. If you introduce a probability error margin, then you are adopting a probability sampling (random sampling), and if otherwise, then you adopt non probability sampling (non random sampling). A non random sampling cannot be fitted where you introduced a probability constant.

After all the stress of undergraduate, exams, final year, and project. It is time for NYSC, but let us discuss what NYSC is about;

About NYSC

The NYSC scheme was created in a bid to reconstruct, reconcile and rebuild the country after the Nigerian Civil war.
The unfortunate antecedents in our national history gave impetus to the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps by decree No.24 of 22nd May 1973 which stated that the NYSC is being established "with a view to the proper encouragement and development of common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity".

The objectives of our establishment thus include:

1. To establish Nigeria as a united, strong and self-reliant nation.

2. To establish Nigeria as a great and dynamic economy.

3. To establish Nigeria as a land of bright and full opportunities for all citizens.

4. The government and people of Nigeria are not aware that sound and patriotic leadership is a precondition for the rapid social and economic development of the country. As a nation, Nigeria has been less fortunate in the kind of leadership that emerge to govern the affairs of the country in the period immediately after independence, a leadership whose achievements notwithstanding, was none the less ill-prepared and generally not properly motivated to tackle the problems of socioeconomic under development, in the interest of the country as a whole.

5. There is no gain saying in the fact that the future of any country depends on the youths. The youths of Nigeria acknowledge this fact, and have consistently laid claim to the nation's leadership.

6. While one may give credence to the saying that leaders are born, not made, one must also concede to the fact that leadership in a modem society requires a certain degree of preparation and orientation before the assumption of that role.

7. The universities and other institutions of higher learning are normally expected to be training ground for future leaders, except that, as we are all aware, these institutions are first and foremost committed to the advancement of learning and knowledge, training of people for good citizenship. Little wonder that the products of these institutions have been accused of being too elitist in their outlook, of not identifying with the plight of common man, and of inability to appreciate predicament of the vast majority of our people who live in the rural areas.

8. It was the need to look beyond the immediate present and to think of the future leadership of the country that necessitated the mobilisation of certain categories of our youths through the National Youth Service Corps Scheme. This was done with a view to giving them the proper guidance and orientation relevant to the needs of the country. The National Youth Service Corps Decree No. 24 which has now been repealed and replaced by Decree 51 of 16th June 1993, was then formally promulgated.

9. The purpose of the scheme is primarily to inculcate in Nigerian Youths the spirit of selfless service to the community, and to emphasize the spirit of oneness and brotherhood of all Nigerians, irrespective of cultural or social background. The history of our country since independence has clearly indicated the need for unity amongst all our people, and demonstrated the fact that no cultural or geographical entity can exist in isolation.

As a developing country. Nigeria is further plagued by the problems attendant upon a condition of under development, namely: Poverty, Mass Illiteracy, cute shortage of high skilled Manpower (coupled with most uneven distribution of the skilled people that are available), woefully inadequate Socio-economic infrastructural facilities, Housing, Water and Sewage facilities, Road, Healthcare services, and effective Communication system. Faced with these almost intractable problems, which were further compounded by the burden of reconstruction after the civil war, the government and people of Nigeria set for the country, fresh goals, and objectives which are outlined above.

I have come in contact with hundreds of final year students, master students and doctoral students seeking help on an academic project that seems not achievable. After spending quality time, they ended up wasting precious time and resources. Some even face with the expiration of their studentship. May I quickly inform you that before embarking on a project topic, ask your self the following questions:

  1. Will this study be achievable?
  2. Can I have access to primary data collection (if primary data)?
  3. Can I have access to secondary data collection (if secondary data)?
  4. Can I analyze the data conveniently?
  5. Can I seek for help on this topic?
  6. Has any similar work been conducted by earlier researchers?
  7. What is the financial implication? Can I afford it? It is only when you are able to answer all the questions that you can embark on the project writing.

Best of luck.

Reducing plagiarism can be achieved through the following means:
Paraphrase: If you are using an idea that you got from another source, put it in your own words. Read the passage carefully and paraphrase severally till the clarity or full understanding is ensured. Then, write the idea down without looking at the initial idea which belongs to someone else. If you use more than two words in a row that are copied directly from the source, you should consider using a direct quote instead.
Ensure Good and Accurate Citing: Sources must be properly and correctly cited. The use of proper parenthetical citation is needed whenever ideas from another source are used. The following styles of citation are often required in academic (APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, etc.). Failure of forgetting to cite a source correctly may look simple, but it is referred to as plagiarism which I often called academic robbery.
Use quotes when necessary: If there is need to restate some ideas taken from a particular source word-for-word, you will need to place it within quotation marks. Ensure high diligence is maintained during the process of copying the quote correctly. Changing the words within a quote is disrespectful to the author who created it, hence it is strongly disallowed. If the quote is longer than 40 words, paraphrasing is the best option instead. Otherwise, there will be devoid of originality in your writeup.
Cite quotes properly: Proper citation of a quote follows a slightly different procedure than paraphrasing does. Use a beginning and an end quotation mark, and follow it with a complete parenthetical in-text citation. Example: Adeniran (2016) states that "the pertinence of transport cannot be far-fetched from or beyond economic necessity, spatial diffusion and social consolidation".
The use of plagiarism detection software: Technology has made it easier to detect plagiarism for better adjustment. This is supported by websites that offer free software to check academic writings for plagiarism. Should in case plagiarism is detected, some time should be spent on reworking the work contents.
Cite your previously-submitted works if you use them: This may seem counterintuitive, but even stealing words and ideas from yourself is a serious offence. That's because the credit needs to be given to the instructor of your previous course who assisted you in developing your ideas. Not to mention, your current instructor needs to know that you have written on this topic before and that you are building on previous knowledge.
Consider getting help from an essay writing service: Submitting a purchased paper as your own still counts as plagiarism. Even though you have been granted permission, you are still passing off another person's words and ideas as your own. However, a writing service like BUTY GLOBAL can provide guidance through the writing process.
Add a reference page or a ‘works cited’ page: List all your references on an organized ‘works cited' page that you hand in along with your paper.
Include your ideas: The nature of academia is to continually build on the ideas of others, but each contributor must do his or her part to add new ideas to the body of literature. Your thoughts and perspectives must be included in the body of literature.
Seek help from your scholars: If you are having difficulties understanding any of your sources, talk to your instructor. He or she can guide you in his or her expectations and coach you in a deeper understanding of the texts so that you can generate your ideas from them.

It is like NYSC is more stricter doing the administration of this new DG

My thoughts thou, what do u think

Few days ago, we posted about some Benin Republic Corp member not given certificate you can read it

Here is another news, that make Corp member gist

The Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC in Kano, Alhaji Ladan Baba says no fewer than 22 out of the 2018 Batch B Stream ll Corps members that served in the state are to repeat their service year.

Baba made this known in an interview on Thursday in Kano.

He said the corps members were either found guilty of absconding from their places of primary assignment, PPA for at least three consecutive months or beyond aside other serious offences.

“A total of 1,718, of the 2018 Batch B, Stream 2 corps members passed out from Kano today in a low key winding up passing out organised in the four zonal offices in Wudil, Bichi, Kura and at the NYSC Secretariat in the city,” he said.

According to him, 18 out of the batch were to serve extension of service for between three weeks to four months, while few of them have been shortlisted for honours Award and commendation.

Baba commended the outgoing corps members for their contributions to the development of the state, especially in the area of education, health, agriculture, rural infrastructure and the recently concluded general elections.

He advised the corps members to continue to practice the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Training embarked on during their service year.

He also called on parents to dedicate some percentage of the tuition fees earlier given to their wards to establish genuine businesses relevant for self reliance.

1.0 What is Plagiarism?
According to Merriam-Webster online dictionary, plagiarism is the stealing of someone else’s idea without giving credit to the source and thereby presenting an idea or product as new and original. Also, Stepchyshym and Nelson (2007) define plagiarism as the wrongful appropriation and stealing, and publication of another author's language, thoughts, ideas or expression, and the representation of them as one's original work. The thoughts of Stepchyshym and Nelson concerning the definition of plagiarism was coined out of the Oxford English dictionary and modified.
2.0 The Big Issue
The reports of plagiarism are prevalent in this modern era whereby the internet has made it easy to source information. Young researchers in academia easily claim the authority of such information obtained from the internet without giving credit to the source. This has hindered deep thinking and brilliant solutions to emanate as a research outcome. Plagiarism mostly occurs when researchers in academia failed to identify gaps from the literature review and thereby filling the identified gaps.

The above sentences were the conversations between Professor Samson Olawale FADARE of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife and Mr Adetayo Olaniyi ADENIRAN of the Federal University of Technology Akure.
3.0 Dynamics of Academic Plagiarism
According to Turnitin (2017), the following are considered to be the forms of plagiarism of how plagiarism exists:
 Turning in someone else’s work as your own;
 Copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit;
 Failing to put a quotation in quotation marks;

 Giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation;
 Changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit;
 Copying so many words or ideas from a source that makes up the majority of your work, whether you give credit or not.
Finally, in this Volume, plagiarism has been described as an act of stealing in academics and will be simply referred to as academic corruption; hence, the need to incorporate anti-plagiarism into anti-corruption policy campaign.

* NYSC as been meeting with institutions stakeholders expecially foreign institutions, there have been meetings with ICPC and EFCC.

* Is this the result of the meetings, some people call this discrimination, who then should be blamed or take responsibility for this?

* Is it the students that are unaware of what is really going on? Or NYSC that allow them in the service in the first place?

This is someone experience of the matter

"After one year of rigorous service, my sister a 2018 batch B, Stream 2 Corp member was not issued her certificate because she schooled in Benin Republic.

This is so sad

Why the discrimination ?

And please what is the solution to help her get her certificate. She has been crying since yesterday.

NYSC is claiming that they got information that students from Benin Republic universities did not pass through the four walls of universities and all bought their degrees. I doubt this is true, but then, how can they (NYSC) judge thousands of students who schooled in Benin Republic because of the misdeeds of a few bad eggs.

I know nothing about the buying and selling of degree certificates in Benin Republic, but what I am very sure about is that my sister went to school and have studied seriously from year 1 to her final year, with me remitting her school fees, not even to her but directly to the bank account of her institution.

Why is NYSC now causing her pains by withholding her certificate and that of thousand other foreign students after waisting one year of National service. This is not fair! Please give us advice and help us create awareness."

What shall we say then, and NYSC mandatory, let us here you thought below.

1. Waiting to be done with NYSC before you begin to seriously apply for a job is one of the greatest mistakes you ever want to make.

This is one mistake many of us make or are about to make. You may nearly slap yourself if you wait till then. In fact before you finish NYSC you should have applied for at least 20 jobs and attended at least 2 interviews, that’s the mindset of a serious job seeker. Except you have a job waiting for you somewhere.

2. If you made a 2:2 or third class, you are in a more competitive market and so you may need a super strategy to standout.

This is because the job market is saturated and so one way many employers try to streamline the number of applicants is by stating that they need 2:1 or first class only.
This should not be a source of worry but should be a reason why you have to up your game. You need to go for additional training that are relevant (mark the word relevant), add some more skill, make your CV on point and all your applications superb! You can’t have a 2:2 and you are applying with different first class and 2:1 and you won’t do something different. You just have to stand out to improve your chances. Also you should apply in more places to increase your chances.

I will tell us two real life stories. Are we following?
Have you heard of this man called Tony Elumelu? I heard a story about him. Tony Elumelu graduated with a 2:2. His first banking job. The requirement was a first class or 2:2. But he still applied. Tony Elumelu applied but added a cover note, explaining why he felt he was still qualified despite graduating with a 2:2. Guess what? He was hired!
I tell you the story of a friend of mine. The person is with a top multinational company right now. She made a 2:2, but contacted me before applying for the job. I gave her some advice, helped her with a "wow" CV and prepared her for the interview. The day she went for the interview, all the interviewers kept commending her CV that they forgot to look at her grade. She was moved to the next stage of the interview. By this time, they had dropped some candidates. She was called again for a second interview, this time around with the top managers. She was scared. Again, they started praising her CV. Asking her questions and commending her. At the tail end, that was when one of them saw the grade. They were like, you mean you finished with a 2:2? She said yes. Then she explained why. Because she was honest and had already won their hearts, guess what! Weeks later, she was called to resume work!
This again is a fact many graduates and job seekers don't know!

3. You don’t always need to know anyone to enter a company

I don't know where most young people got this mindset from. They just conclude that all jobs can only be gotten by connection. I want to ask you a question. If you owned a company and you want that company to really grow. As in, you really want it to move forward. Say the truth would you like to hire all your employee based on connection? Wouldn't you want to use common sense to ensure that you have 1..2..3..4 who are really really qualified? Because if all workers were by connection it means the company will crumble. It means they are not looking for skill. And you know what that means.. the company will fall!!!

So because they know this, they can't keep giving all the jobs by connection. There is a place for skill, for those who are truly qualified. So the big question is..Are you among the few qualified?

4. Getting into a company or organization is one thing, how you get in is another thing.

This point is very crucial, please follow carefully!

The route via which you enter a company goes a long way to determine your salary, your future prospects in that company, your promotion or even the benefits you will be entitled to.

Its one thing to be working in shell or Mobil or Total, but the big question is how did you enter? You entered as what?

Have you heard of any of the following terms: Graduate Management Trainee, Technical Trainee, Contract Staff, Intern, Outsourcing?

Let me explain further taking the routes I mentioned above one after the other.

Do you know that the best way to enter a multinational company (MNC) as a young graduate is either as an intern or a graduate trainee.

Let me explain. An intern is not yet employed. He/she will be paid, but is being trained to work. If they find you competent they can now fully recruit you to become a trainee.

Now if you must enter a company and you want to enjoy the highest benefits, try your best to enter the Management Trainee programme.

Those who eventually become MDs and Head of Departments are those who enter as Graduate Trainees.

They are the ones the company likes to send abroad to do one course or the other. They are the ones with the fatter salary. They are the big boys and girls. This is why they are usually few!

The truth is not every one can enter as a graduate trainee, but aspire to do so, there is no harm in aiming big!

A technical trainee is usually for all the technical work. They usually like to take HND and OND for these roles. They believe they have the technical knowledge

The only thing is that, they are not paid as much as the Graduate Management Trainee

Then for contract staff, that one your salary is smaller. You are on contract and so your contract can end anytime, and you end up jobless again
Outsourcing - The company hires another company to do something for them. so you are working with company A, Shell hired company A on contract. so shell will pay your Company, then your company will pay you.
so you see, i am in shell, i am in shell...The right question is how did you enter shell? And whats your role in shell?

5. When applying for a job in which you were given an email address to forward your CV, there are seven points you need to note.

I. Your CV should be in pdf format- it should not be in word because it can scatter when opened on the other end. Except you were specifically told to send it that way.
II. You should ALWAYS attach a cover letter. Listen to me they may not say it but it’s a secret why they screen candidates out (it should be in pdf too)
III. You must have a subject and the subject should state the position you are applying for.
IV. Your email must not be empty! It’s a sin, many make that mistake. Your email should have a catchy and stimulating body which is similar but more straight forward and direct like the cover letter
V. Your application must have a complementary close (and optionally a picture which you insert through your email complementary close setting)
VI. You must do a proper search of that company and the role you are applying for.
VII. Try to use a computer not a phone. The greatest error you want to make is having the employer see things like “sent from my blackberry Z10” or “sent from my tecnoc8”. That shows how lazy you are and how you can’t make the extra effort of applying with professionalism

I have seen a lot of graduates err in this regard. They keep saying they have applied everywhere but they never get called. It is because your application was shabby and not pleasant to your employer.

Fact 6
Cc vs Bcc

-How many of us have seen this stuff in our emails?
-who knows what they are used for?
Okay, let me explain.

Cc stands for "carbon copy." Anyone you add to the cc: field of a message receives a copy of that message when you send it. All other recipients of that message can see that person you designated as a cc: recipient.

Bcc: stands for "blind carbon copy." Anyone you add to the bcc: field of a message receives a copy of that message when you send it. But, bcc: recipients are invisible to all the other recipients of the message including other bcc: recipients.

Now what is the importance of this knowledge of Cc and Bcc?

Sometimes if you are being referred by someone to apply for a job, you may sometimes need to put the person that referred you in copy to further strengthen your chances. Its more like a referral.

If you want the person you send the application, to know who referred you, you useCc, if you want to code it you use BBC.

7. Most of the available jobs are not usually advertised
No matter how thoroughly you search for job openings on online job portals, job agencies, newspapers ads or even on the company's website - whatever jobs you find that way is only 15 percent of what's available. only 15 percent!!!

That's because 85 percent of jobs are never publicized. This is absolutely true, and done for good reasons.

The employers try to avoid the painful and costly process of sorting through the thousands of mostly crappy applications that follow any publicized job opening, so they would rather use other means of hiring the right people that don't require public advertisement.

The fact that you don't see any job openings doesn't mean a company is not hiring. So you can connect directly and can convince the company that your are the right person. You will be hired whether or not any job was advertised.

Again I must say... This doesn't mean jobs are not advertised at all.

Now there are three key people whom, if your CV can just get to them, they have the power to get you employed.

  1. Heads of the department, unit or team in which you wish to work
    1. The HR Manager
    2. The CEO, MD or founder of the company

How then can your CV get to them? There is what they can targeted emailing.

8. Doing a Masters immediately after NYSC is very dangerous for some categories of people!

I know some people want to add something to their 2:2 or to their courses because they may not have studied some kind of courses that are very well appreciated in Nigeria
-But Masters immediately after NYSC is not for everybody.
i. If your family is broke and waiting for you to come and help them out
You would rather take that job, start looking for certifications, then you can sponsor yourself for masters.
ii. If you are like 24 and above, doing a masters immediately may not be advisable. By the time you are done they tell you not more than 26 years old (so you have no job experience, and you have lost on the age side)
-If you must do masters, do your calculations and consultations well. Don’t be a copy copy! Don’t follow crowd. Understand why you want to do it.

9. Some of your CVs never get read by the employers
Some companies use what is called an optimization software to scan through thousands of CVs looking for keywords. Any CV that doesn't have some keywords they are looking for get trashed.
Only after they finish optimization does a human being now start looking at the CVs remaining one by one.

10. Getting a job is a full time job!

Allow this point to sink into your head! If you are unemployed right now, you need to employ yourself into a new job called - GETTING A JOB

When something very important to you gets missing in your house, how do you search for it please?

You check under the table, inside your room, the toilet, u call ur uncle, u turn everywhere upside down!

is that correct?
So why is it that when its time to look for a job we do it with some lackadaisical attitude?

My dear, Nigeria is hard! To get a job, you have to be violent about it. You have to attend seminars, ask questions, apply here and in let it be serious!

You don't get a job by watching Africa Magic

You don't get a job by going to cinema house every weekend

You don't get a job by knowing all the telemundo series.

No way! Getting a job is serious business.

Sentiment apart,

Every recent graduate in the business of getting a job in this era needs:

  1. A Good smart phone (no matter how cheap)
  2. A good monthly data plan (not all this 100 naira per month subscription) plus good Internet connection.
  3. Access to power supply for minimum 2 hours daily.
  4. Network with "correct" groups.
  5. A laptop once in a while (could be your own, your neighbors own or you go to cyber Cafe).

Shell or Nestlé or whoever won't hear you were broke and so you couldn't come online to see their post for a vacancy that suited you.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate implementation of the N30,000 new national wage for Federal Public Service workers currently earning below the minimum wage.

The Chairman, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission, Chief Richard Egbule said this while addressing a news conference on the implementation of the new national minimum wage on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that the commencement of the approved payment would be determined by the office of the Accountant-General and backdated to when the President signed the agreement.

According to Egbule, the approval takes effect from April 18, 2018 and will affect the salary of government agencies under five salary structures.

This includes the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure, CONPSS, Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS and the Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure, CONRAISS.

Also, the Consolidated Tertiary Institutions Salary Structure, CONTISS II and Consolidated Tertiary Educational Institutions Salary Structure, CONTEDISS would be affected.

“The negotiations between the Federal Government and the joint National Public Service Negotiating Council on the consequential adjustment arising from the new minimum wage for officers who earn above N30,000 would continue.

“The outcome of such negotiations will be implemented with effect from the date an agreement is reached,” he said.

Egbule assured the public that the Federal Government was totally committed to the implementation of the new minimum wage as agreed with key stakeholders.

He said that any enquiry relating to the implementation of the new minimum wage should be directed to the commission.(NAN)
